SERPENTWITHFEET DOWN NUH RIVER

L.A-based artist serpentwithfeet has released a new single 'Down Nuh River', in the run-up to the new EP, DEACON’S GROVE, out November 5th on Secretly Canadian. Using creepy piano chords, and hardly any drums, the production on the track is eerie and understated. serpent's vocals are split between hooky melodic sections, and a section rooted deep in rhythm, where he delivers in a soft and seductive tone, 'Swim to the deepest part, that's where all the wishes are, maybe you can bring me back one'. “When working on ‘Down Nuh River’ I was thinking of all the songs that me, my friends and cousins made up as kids. We had so much fun creating and reinventing songs on the playground and the porch. I wanted to channel that energy in this track,” says serpent. 'Down Nuh River' has arrived alongside a fantastically simple music video consisting of four dancers at an outdoor sports stadium. The camera shots are mostly static, adding to the understated vibe of the song. Watch and listen here! -Ellie Rose-Davies
